Talent Search

          The Johns Hopkins University Talent Search is designed to identify, assess and recognize students with exceptional mathematical and/or verbal reasoning abilities. Students scoring at the 97th percentile on a standardized test may apply to participate in the Talent Search.

         The Talent Search can help students, parents, and schools better understand a student’s reasoning abilities when he/she appears to have "hit the ceiling" of their regular assessments. All 7th and 8th grade participants in the Talent Search will receive the following:

  • A certificate recognizing their achievement;
  • A talent search report which helps them interpret their SAT scores and compares their scores with those of other 7th and 8th graders as well as with high school seniors;
  • A suggested reading list;
  • A program opportunities guide, which lists, by state, academic programs for highly able students and invitations to one-day conferences

         Students with qualifying SAT scores are eligible to apply for CTY Summer Residential Programs.
